How You’ll Make an Impact

The Treasury Analyst will be an integral part of the Valvoline Retail Services cash operations with duties including positioning of cash, entry of manual payments, execution of payment runs and investment recommendations.  The role will post related accounting entries and follow-up on unresolved open items.  The role will assist in the preparation of cash forecasts and provide supplemental support for the company’s intercompany netting program.  The role will provide in office support for processing of checks and mail received on the Lexington campus. In the role, you would be responsible for:

  • Daily Cash Management - Providing back-up support for the cash management roles in North America.  This includes monitoring cash flows daily ensuring that all accounts are adequately funded to prevent overdraft positions as well as ensuring they will be adequately funded for the following days anticipated activity.  Process payment runs in SAP and enter payments in the banking portals as appropriate.  Follow-up on business inquiries on vendor payments and customer receipts.  Process stop payments and positive pay confirmations in the banking system as well as voids in SAP .  Execute entries to concentrate cash as required.  The role will support business requests for in house daily check printing/mailing.
  • Cash Management Accounting - Processing journal entries for bank to bank transfers and investment activity in support of the North American Cash Management work.  Review open item listing daily and research items for resolution and clearing.
  • Cash Forecast – Supporting the senior analyst, review previous day cash flows and consolidate into standard cash flow format.  Populate spreadsheet for expected future cash flows identified by discussions with members of the Treasury teams, various business contacts and open items in SAP.
  • Department Mail -Retrieve mail from mailroom, log checks received and mail out to appropriate lockboxes and distribute Treasury mail to other department members.
  • Ad Hoc – Provide a supplemental resource for other Treasury activity
  • Other duties and responsibilities as determined by Valvoline from time to time in its sole discretion.

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum one year of relevant job-related experience in corporate finance, banking preferred; but not required.
  • Intermediate PC skills to include knowledge of Microsoft Office products, especially Microsoft Excel
  • High level of communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Organized with the ability to perform multiple tasks
  • Self-starter with ability to learn quickly
  • May be required to work on a U.S. holiday due to global coverage. Comp time will be awarded. 
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
