How You’ll Make an Impact

The Manager, Cash Control and Treasury Services has oversight of the finance teams handling cash application and bank reconciliation.  Additional responsibilities include management of the Financial Approval Authority (FAA) process, yearly FBAR reporting, Escheat filings and all KYC and bank portal work related to opening/closing of bank accounts, including managing bank signatories and platform users.  This role has oversight of 1099 reporting for Valvoline Retail Services and works closely with the VIOC Operations team providing support for banking/supplies and any changes needed.  The Manager will also provide backup for payment approvals in support of the cash management team and will report to the Director of Treasury Operations. In the role, you would be responsible for:

  • Management of the bank recon and cash application teams, playing an integral role in standing up new teams and identifying processes and metrics.
  • Opening/closing bank accounts, updating signers/legal representatives and handling all KYC requests from banking relationships.
  • Backup for cash management when needed. Approve outgoing manual payments, ensure bank accounts are properly funded, execute daily investment or redemption, handle urgent business requests.
  • Completing various SOX reporting requirements including Blackline reviews and Key Controls for areas of responsibility. Review reports for accuracy and provide signoff in a timely manner, as well as provide quarterly certification to the Controls Management group.
  • Managing and providing oversight of 1099 process to include working with outsourced vendor to provide any necessary documentation, reports or access needed for proper reporting through the final mailing of 1099s.
  • Performing filing of Foreign Bank and Financial Account Reporting (FBAR) and Escheat Process. Review data for required reporting of US signers for Valvoline entities who have signature authority on foreign bank accounts and for unclaimed property that is to be reported to each state on an ongoing basis according to schedules mandated by each state.
  • Monitoring onboarding schedule for all new VIOC acquisitions and ground-up builds and establishing appropriate bank relationship for the locations. Order initial banking supplies and establish night-drop agreements. Configure new stores and bank changes in SAP for proper store reporting.
  • Working on various projects related to Treasury on an on-going basis; responsible for testing and validation of data for any SAP upgrades and patches during the year.
  • Handling process related questions from teams or internal/external customers relating to areas of responsibility. Troubleshoot issues related to system errors or issues with the banks. Work with IT on any related issues for resolution.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as determined by Valvoline from time to time in its sole discretion.

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or a related field
  • Minimum of five years of experience in cash application and bank reconciliation
  • Background in KYC work and banking platforms
  • Understanding of accounting and finance concepts required
  • Proficiency in finance/treasury practices including cash management operations, banking practices, and cash flow forecasting 
  • Intimate knowledge of banking products, systems, instruments and processes
  • Strong computer skills (Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, SAP or other ERP experience)
  • Strong attention to detail with exceptional documentation, analytical and organizational skills
  • Comfortable and flexible with multiple priorities in an ever-changing, growth environment
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), analytical, complex problem-solving skills, and interpersonal skills
  • A collaborative and innovative spirit to continually improve business processes
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
