How You’ll Make an Impact

Manage daily logistics operations. The Logistics Analyst utilizes Valvoline's Transportation Management System (TMS) to ensure loads are tendered cost effectively and shipped to meet commercial unit expectations and customer on-time requirements. This requires active engagement with Valvoline Customer Service, Sales, Supply Chain Planning, Plants, DCs and Carriers. In the role, you would be responsible for:

  • Coordinating day-to-day logistics activities to ensure all Dry Van, LTL and Bulk shipments are covered/planned in accordance with customer requirements. Engage Customer Service, Supply Chain Planning, and Valvoline Plants/DCs to ensure products arrive as ordered.
  • Proficient application of Valvoline's Transportation Management System. Ensure shipments arrive on-time, cost effectively, and in compliance with customer requirements. Manage all TMS service outages with CLX Logistics.
  • Managing bulk shipments. Collaborate with Sales to determine customer requirements including sampling protocol, hose length, PTO capability and restrictions on prior content of tanker. Communicate requirements to carriers and plants. Ensure OEM shipments achieve 100% on-time delivery.
  • Monitoring Intermodal stock transfer orders (STOs) to West Coast DCs. Collaborate with Valvoline Operations to ensure container storage charges are minimized. Monitor carrier transit times and maintain accurate routes in SAP.
  • Monitoring carrier performance. Collaborate with Valvoline Transportation Buyers to optimize carrier selection for key shipping lanes.
  • Working with Valvoline DCs to reduce shipping costs through diligent observance of weight and volume guidelines. Ensure selection of most cost-efficient transportation mode (LTL / TL).
  • Managing carrier freight claims to mitigate loss associated with in-transit damage. Ensure claims are thoroughly researched and documented.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as determined by Valvoline from time to time in its sole discretion.

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred, but work experience will be a consideration
  • Prior Logistics, Customer Service and/or Supply Chain experience preferred
  • SAP Knowledge

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook

  • Solid communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Sense of urgency with addressing tactical issues and optimizing service

  • Strong organizational skills - capable of handling multiple tasks at the same time

  • Ability to remain calm, cool, and level-headed under pressure

  • Flexible and adaptable to change

  • Aspire to learn, grow, and advance within discipline and broader organization

  • Ability to sit / stand for extended periods at workstation

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
