How You’ll Make an Impact

The North American Demand Planning Manager has responsibility for overseeing Demand Planning, Inventory Management, and Onboarding within our North American Installer Channel. Will manage and lead a team of Supply Chain professionals that have responsibility for forecast accuracy and key stakeholder interest for Valvoline's fill rate and delivery optimization to our installers. Partners cross-functionally with Sales, Distribution, Procurement, Onboarding, and Operations groups, to serve as the conduit of information among these groups as it relates to demand and supply. This role will have responsibility for implementing a national Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) program for our Installer Group customers to assist with local inventory management at the store level. The Planning Manager will be vital in identifying other value add supply chain services for installers in addition to VMI and be responsible for the tools that support forecasting, VMI, and future installer services. In the role, you would be responsible for:

  • Integration with Valvoline Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain groups, and Installer customers to understand and translate customer requirements into action and successfully create a Demand Plan for the North American Installer organization. Develop and continuously improve the process to provide a holistic and accurate North American Installer forecast.
  • Creating, testing, and rolling out a centralized National Installer VMI program to be used to improve Valvoline supply chain efficiency, improve channel partner relationships, and optimize Installer inventory. Develop a VMI program that is scalable across any installer with proper IT infrastructure to ensure it's a selling tool to help retain and add new rooftops.
  • Assisting in designing, implementing, and optimizing the next enhancements of demand planning tools for Valvoline. Add perspective from a North American Installer business point of view that will help us to design a tool that will drive towards more accurate demand planning results for Installer and Distributor customers.
  • Liaising between Installer Groups and Key Vendors in providing data and metrics that provide essential information and improve fill rate levels. These vendor relationships would mainly focus in the area of Service Parts, such as filters and wipers, that are so critical to the Installer business.
  • Preparing and leading monthly Account Engagement meetings for key strategic business units.
  • The data integrity from our installers and the tools/processes to utilize the data. Create processes to identify data integrity issues and conduct root cause analysis to help rectify future issues. Data accuracy is imperative for our tools and relationships to be successful. Design, implement, and optimize all tools that support value add services for installers.
  • Creating reporting for various business functions to help provide insights through internal and external data analysis software tools.
  • Helping with customer onboarding from a demand planning perspective.
  • Creating and updating process documentation for demand planning and VMI functions.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as determined by Valvoline from time to time in its sole discretion.

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor's Degree in business, economics, supply chain or equivalent work experience

  • Minimum of five years' professional Supply Chain experience
  • Minimum of one years' managerial experience in Supply Chain Operations

  • Strong Relationship with Commercial Teams and customers

  • Knowledge of ERP Systems and SAP

  • Strong background in S&OP processes

  • History with forecasting, planning, and scheduling processes and tools

  • Background in Data Analytics and process documentation

  • Strong leadership and project management skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent presentation skills

  • Understanding and ability to explain Supply Chain KPI's

  • Self-directed, good time management skills

  • Ability to adjust approach and level of detail based on audience

  • Ability to understand opportunity costs of Supply Chain related decisions

  • Ability to coach and motivate direct reports

  • Ability to explain complex Supply Chain scenarios/issues, etc. in an easy-to-understand way

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. 

What Will Set You Apart

  • Advanced Degree (MBA or Master of Supply Chain Management)
  • APICS certification in Production and Inventory Management or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or Certified Professional Forecaster (CPF)
