*Valvoline World Headquarters is located in Lexington, KY, but we invite remote candidates to apply as well. Ideally, we would like candidates located in nearby markets (Cincinnati and Louisville).

 

How You’ll Make an Impact

The Project Manager/Business Process Optimization Specialist runs multiple initiatives and projects of varying size and complexity across the organization, around business processes improvement and/or new business processes implementation. Participates as SME or manages projects related to new company initiatives.

The Business Process Optimization Specialist is leading cross-functional teams and partnering with internal stakeholders to identify, develop, design, and launch business solutions.

 

 

This position will focus both on delivery of projects and serve to business as internal SME/consultant on processes linking Supply chain and Commercial functional units.

In the role, you would be responsible for:

  • Applying tools and project management methodology that is flexible, appropriately manages risk, and leads to successful implementation of projects
  • Understanding interdependencies between systems use/technology, supply chain operations and route-to-market specifics in global environment to fulfill business needs; demonstrate a functional acumen to support solutions
  • Analyzing current business processes through cross-functional assessment, from inputs to outputs, applying (V) lean principles to streamline and eliminate wasted time, effort and cost while improving efficiencies, developing best practices, routines and innovative solutions, engaging stakeholders in solution project, leading change management and becoming an SME for the process
  • Developing, creating, and publishing process documents and maintenance principles
  • Securing and driving consistency of processes across the business and planning into the future
  • Preparing a detailed project plan for all phases of the project; managing day-to-day project activities, resources and working team meetings; tracking project success; providing status regarding project milestones, risks, issues; reporting on results, metrics, pilot, and implementation activities; communicating to business stakeholders and leadership team
  • Full project lifecycle ownership: setting project expectations, driving leadership of project team by building scope and plan to meet project goals, delegating/tracking deliverables with working team, guiding project milestones to ensure momentum according to scope and schedule; measuring project impact, and effectively completing project close activities
  • Developing and sustaining a network of working relationships outside of immediate team members, including internal and external stakeholders

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, technical/scientific, finance or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in similar role or environment
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Project management skills - ability to lead multiple projects of different size/complexity in a variety of setting and team member locations (in person, remote, hybrid)
  • Process Management skills – experience with business process discovery, modeling, and analysis resulting in the design of the improved future state process.
  • Interpersonal and team facilitating skills builds collaborative and productive teams across multiple areas to meet project goals on time, adhering to their responsibilities, performance accountabilities and project milestones
  • Analytical skills to dive deep into technical/process issues and become a subject matter expert when gaps arise in the project
  • Comfort with ambiguity; flexibility in assignments, teams, change
  • Ability to demonstrate a drive for results and accountability of business needs
  • Ability to work creatively in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation, and excellence
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and MS Teams
  • Knowledge of SAP
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. 

What Will Set You Apart

  • MBA
  • Minimum one year of international company experience
  • Working knowledge of MS Project, Visio or similar project and portfolio management tools
  • PMP or similar project management certification
  • Familiarity with Valvoline business and processes
